Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)
RCIA is the process through which an unbaptized person 7 years of
age or older is initiated into the Catholic Church. It is also
the process through which a person who has been baptized in another
faith tradition, or as a Catholic but has never been catechized, journeys
to full initiation in our Catholic community. This process demands
a full and active participation in the catechetical sessions, joining
our community for Liturgy of the Word, prayer, and other services, participating
in the social life of the community, and becoming familiar with the
various ministries of our parish as ones heart is converted to the love
of God.
As a parish community we are revitalized
as we journey with those in the RCIA. As we experience the
conversion of our catechumens, we ourselves are converted to a
stronger faith. If you or someone you know may be
interested in inquiring about becoming a member of the Church, please
contact either
Father Chuck or
Ella Zagurskie, our RCIA Coordinator, at 724.726.8224 or via e-mail
(click their names in blue).
