Let the Fire Fall

As we hear about the descent of the Holy Spirit onto God’s People at Pentecost, we might wonder about how this gift applies to us as well.  We don’t see the miraculous tongues of fire or experience the overt miracles that the Apostles saw and performed at Pentecost.

Even so, we have already received this gift of the Holy Spirit—given in our Baptism, and sealed in us at Confirmation. However, a gift is only as good as what we choose to do with it.  Many Catholics still have left the gift wrapped and in the gift box.  Pray that the gift of the Holy Spirit, along with the sevenfold gifts that come along with it: wisdom, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, piety, and fear of the Lord.

May the Holy Spirit be rekindled in each of our hearts so that we can love and serve Him even more!
